D5.1: Provision and installation of onshore control system

Progress:

This work package is now complete, the onshore control system is installed, and all commissioning work associated with the onshore and offshore electrical infrastructure is finalised.

The project was energised on June 21st 2016 and is now connected to the 33kV Ness of Quoys distribution network following the successful installation of one of the longest underground 33kV power export cables in the UK by the network operator, Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution plc.

The connection complies with the National Grid Code and has required over 25km of distribution network upgrades along with infrastructure upgrades at two substations.
