Atlantis is working with SBS International (SBS), an Indonesia based developer, on the delivery of up to three 150MW tidal stream projects in Indonesia. The projects are owned by SBS, with whom Atlantis is working with to develop a joint-venture. Atlantis is the exclusive supplier to the Nautilus tidal-stream project being developed by SBS. The power produced from the project will be sold to Indonesia’s state-owned electrical utility company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, under a 30-year power purchase agreement.
The total cost of the commercial array has been estimated at USD750 million, and it will be constructed over a number of stages, with an initial 12MW demonstration phase delivered by 2021 followed by the rollout to 150MW on the first site. The 12MW phase will be followed by site expansions to 70MW in the second phase, and the project will ultimately have 150MW of capacity after the third and final phase. Atlantis and SBS will deploy 24meter rotor diameter AR2000 turbines across all phases of the project. The project sites in Indonesia are located in the straits around the islands of Bali and Lombok.
